AS Work on BWAG Power Text

Morning!

You should have all posted your responses to the BWAG text we explored last lesson on padlet.com/wall/asexamresponses. If not, this needs to be done straightaway.

Read through the responses posted. Choose three (including your own!), save them and mark them using the mark scheme here. I would like you to highlight the different aspects of the texts according to the AOs.

Mark Scheme 2012  NB This mark scheme puts AO3 all together

AO2 POWER TERMINOLOGY & CONCEPTS (PINK)

Demonstrate critical understanding of a range
of concepts and issues related to the
construction and analysis of meanings in
spoken and written language, using
knowledge of linguistic approaches

AO3i CONTEXT (ORANGE)

Analyse and evaluate the
influence of contextual factors
on the production and
reception of spoken and written
language

AO3ii LANGUAGE ANALYSIS & TERMINOLOGY (YELLOW)

Knowledge of the key
constituents of language

Once you have done this, post some ideas on your blog about the differences between male and female language or any other ideas you have about language and gender. These ideas will be a starting point for next lesson!

Happy marking!

Nina
